Just over a year after the start of the Bi.Vi.Si. Project (Enhancement of Sicilian viticultural biodiversity), aimed at enhancing Sicilian viticultural biodiversity, the second Campaign Day is scheduled for 5 March 2024 which, this time, will be devoted to examining the first results and in particular, to the tasting of the first experimental wines produced within the Project.
The event is at 9:30 a.m. at the F. Paulsen Regional Nursery in Palermo, where – after reports on the first results by the project partners – prof. Onofrio Corona of the SAAF Department of the University of Palermo will lead the two tasting sessions: The first devoted to the A and B biotypes of Grillo and Catarratto coming from different areas, the second to red wines from Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Vitrarolo, Nocera and Lucignola, also partly coming from different areas.
This will be followed at 2 p.m. by a talk by Dr. Maurizio Gily, Innovation Broker of the Bi.Vi.Si. Project, in which companies that already produce wines from relic vines will be participating.
The conclusions will be entrusted to the President of the Sicilia DOC Consortium, Antonio Rallo.
It is possible to participate by filling in the REGISTRATION FORM.
